Our ALS story is sadly a very short one. Our story starts with a dear brother, husband, father, grandfather, cousin and friend who was diagnosed in October 2016 and passed away April 15, 2017. This dear man was loved by all who ever had the privilege to meet him, he had survived bladder cancer and was on his way to a long life. His ALS symptoms started with a loss of feeling and control of one of his arms. He went through years of tests, treatments and alternative diagnosis’ only to hear the dreaded words we all feared in October 2016. He has ALS.
What you need to know about this man is that he never felt sorry for himself, he rarely if ever complained and he kept his sense of humor until the end.
When we decided to walk in October 2017 we started with a relatively small goal, with each donation we pushed it up and up to where we raised over $17,000! Since then we have raised close to $40,000.
We will be walking again and we hope for an even larger donation!
ALS took our dear Malcolm from us, we will always feel the emptiness his passing created, but we will continue on with the hope of a cure in the near future.
