In Memory of Jane Calmes
In June 2009 my late wife Jane was diagnosed with ALS. Over the ensuing eight years, she battled this most devastating disease with every fiber of her being. Her pure grit, determination, tenacity and grace were inspirational to all who witnessed the struggle. Jane was an ALS Hero. Unfortunately, on August 16, 2017, she lost her battle with ALS and we miss her dearly. During her journey with this terrible disease, we prayed every day for a miracle and a cure. Since her passing, we continue to pray for a miracle that will lead to a cure for all of those currently battling the disease and the many who will contract it in the future. Hopefully, with your help, a miracle will come true and a cure will be found.
Many generous donors, and you may be one of them, continue to help Team Jane’s Angels raise significant amounts of money for the cause! For that, we are truly thankful! To date, Team Jane's Angels has raised more than $1,000,000. Now, we have another exciting opportunity to work together to support those affected by Lou Gehrig's Disease and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
Please consider walking with us in memory of Jane or sponsoring the team and become one of Jane's Angels. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease. I encourage you to get your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers involved. And, your company may make a matching gift, which could double or greatly increase your donation. That is what is necessary to take this effort to the next level.
We greatly appreciate every gift and prayer!
All the best,
Mark Calmes

Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
