Great Strides provides a fantastic opportunity for family, friends, students, and colleagues to come together and make a difference. The event harnesses the power of people with a shared vision and encourages collaboration, team building, and leadership, as we take steps to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.
Your participation in Great Strides matters a lot! We don’t just want to treat CF, we want to end CF.
The time is now. Together, we can cross the finish line.
Why We Stride
Get to know one of our CF Fighters! Our CF Fighters are the face of Great Strides, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraiser. These fighters, who have cystic fibrosis, are committed to helping raise awareness and fund research by fundraising for Great Strides so that someday, we can cure CF.
2020 National Great Strides Ambassadors
Mandie Sherman Mandie is an adult with cystic fibrosis from Sandy, Utah. She strides for her sister, who also has CF, as well as her family. In 2019, she served as the Great Strides Ambassador for the Arizona chapter. Great Strides holds a special place in Mandie’s heart because her husband proposed after they crossed the finish line in 2014.

Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
