DuPage Habitat for Humanity

Why Give?

DuPage Habitat provides a solution to our community's affordable housing need, which is important for...

Businesses to attract and retain lower-income workers. Employees who live near their work have a shorter commute and fewer absentee problems. This group includes the bank tellers, teachers, fire fighters, clergy, service industry workers and others who make our community WORK.

Congregations to put faith in action. Habitat's ecumenical, Christian ministry provides an opportunity for all - from youth to seniors - to serve others in a tangible capacity. Habitat draws people of all faith and no faith together, united in the belief that all people deserve a simple, decent place to live. Supporting DuPage Habitat locally also has an important international impact. For every home we build in DuPage County, DuPage Habitat tithes funding to build a house in the Dominican Republic.

Governments to ensure healthy communities. Habitat homeowners pay property taxes and insurance. Habitat mortgages are structured to provide incentives for long-term homeownership, promoting neighborhood stability and investment.

The Environment. Since 1970, DuPage has seen a 478% increase in the number of commuters coming into DuPage to work. That's higher than any of the other 5 counties in the region, including Cook. The jobs are here but the affordable housing is not.

People who care. Habitat gives a hand up to families who want to work for a better life for themselves and their children. You can help make a long-term impact in their lives:
