Pedal in Place at the Race!

gateway cup

A Parkinson's Fundraiser at The Bommarito Audi West County Gateway Cup Benefiting the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson's

Join us as we ride stationary bikes outdoors during Labor Day weekend at The Bommarito Audi West County Gateway Cup to benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson's!  We will have hundreds of riders on bikes from 11 am - 7 pm on Sunday, September 1, the Giro della Montagna day of the race. When you're not on your 30 minute shift on the bike, enjoy beer gardens, food vendors, watching the race,  and being a part of the family friendly festival street party.

When you fundraise with Team DPF, not only do you get an extra boost knowing you’re making a difference in the lives of people living with Parkinson’s, but you also get incredible team support and perks (like a special edition cycling jersey) that make your Team DPF experience far more memorable than fundraising alone.

BENEFICIARY

The Davis Phinney Foundation was founded by Olympic cyclist Davis Phinney in 2004 to help people with Parkinson’s live well today. The Foundation’s focus is to provide programs, early-stage research, and resources to help people living with Parkinson’s improve their quality of life. Parkinson’s is the number two neurodegenerative disease – second to Alzheimer’s – and affects more than one million people in the United States. The Foundation’s work impacts hundreds of thousands of individuals and families annually.

Pedaling for Parkinson's logoYour participation, donations and/or fundraising efforts help support the Foundation's many programs. Pedaling for Parkinson’s™ is one of the Foundation's programs which is based on research indicating that forced exercise on a bicycle can reduce symptoms of Parkinson’s. In fact, participants who ride three days a week over eight weeks have shown improvement in their Parkinson’s-related symptoms by as much as 35%.
