In Judaism, there is a concept of "tikkun olam", directly translating to "repair the world." Tikkun olam is the idea that Jews bear responsibility not only for their own moral, spiritual, and material welfare, but also for the welfare of society at large. As we embark on this journey of marriage together, we'd like to make sure we are participating in tikkun olam from the start, so in lieu of gifts, please consider making a donation to the Winship Cancer Institute.
We chose to support the Winship Cancer Institute because cancer has affected both of our families. By choosing to donate to cancer research, we hope to honor those whom it has affected and those whom we have lost. We chose this specific institute because it was where Barrie’s sister, Melissa, was treated for breast cancer in 2020. We hope these donations will bring us one step closer to a cancer-free world.
100 percent of the funds we raise through this page will support research and patient care programs at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
