Refund Procedure: GW Division of Development & Alumni Relations

Event Registrations

Paid Events
To receive a full refund, you must cancel at least two business days prior to the event by contacting alumni@gwu.edu or (202) 994-6435. Special circumstances will be taken into consideration. If you decide to not attend the event and would like the event cost to become a charitable contribution for tax purposes, you must notify GW in writing that you will not be attending the event and that you wish to contribute the event cost as a charitable deduction. This notification must be made prior to the event.

Ticketed Events (e.g. basketball or theatre tickets)
All ticket sales are final; this event is non-refundable.

Cancellations by GW or the Division of Development & Alumni Relations
The GW Division of Development & Alumni Relations reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If the Division of Development & Alumni Relations cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. If an event is postponed registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.

Online Gifts

The George Washington University collects donations on its website to support its mission. If you believe that an error has been made in connection with your online donation, contact us at (202) 994-6415 or email giving@gwu.edu. We will work with you to correct any errors and process a reversal or other appropriate correction.
