Event Description

As public health & healthcare professionals, your voice is extremely valuable in your local, state, and national communities, particularly as it applies to health inequities and the social determinants of health. This workshop will guide you through how to develop and pitch an op-ed piece to your news media. Join us for an interactive workshop that will equip you with an important skill to practice as we face simultaneous public health crises in our nation.

Speaker

Rebekah Rollston, MD, MPH '17, is a Family Medicine Physician at Cambridge Health Alliance in Massachusetts, Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Affiliate Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Primary Care Blog, and Founder & Executive Director of Doctors For A Healthy US, LLC. She earned her Medical Degree from East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine and her Master of Public Health (MPH) from The George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health. Her professional interests focus on social determinants of health & health equity, gender-based violence, sexual & reproductive health, addiction medicine, rural health, homelessness & supportive housing, and immigrant health.
