Museums Today: The Resilience Playbook

Anne W. Ackerson, Gail Anderson and Dina A. Bailey

Wednesday, March 24th

6pm EDT

Times of extraordinary change demand a lot from museum leaders: flexibility, humility, perseverance, self-reflection and responsiveness to complex realities. In this session, the three authors of The Resilience Playbook (2020) will highlight its core ideology for creating a resilient organization. These practical and empowering approaches help museums realign around equity and inclusion, community value and impact, financial viability and agile leadership.

About the Book

The Resilience Playbook helps organizations reimagine a future that is relevant and responsive to the changing world around us. Agile leadership requires mapping out meaningful, relevant and financially viable paths to achieve greater public impact, inclusion and value through resilience practices. Resilience strategies require rethinking long-held approaches and tackling embedded exclusionary, colonial ideologies and outmoded practices to establish more flexible, inclusive and responsive frameworks that better align with external realities.

Anne W. Ackerson, independent consultant
