Join GW alumni and students for a discussion with GW alumnus and School of Business board member Michael Quinn, ESIA BA ’84, moderated by Co-Chair of the GWSB Department of Finance and Director of the GW Investment Institute Professor Rodney Lake, GWSB MBA ’03. The conversation will feature Michael sharing his expertise on “Managing your Business through Tightness in the Debt Market and Liquidity Issues” and will be followed by a brief Q&A session with participants.

 

Presenter

Michael Quinn, founding partner of Q Advisors, brings a unique and highly valuable background to telecom, media, and technology (TMT) investment banking that combines finance, hands on M&A experience, and law. With more than 25 years of international operations and investment banking experience in the telecommunications industry, Michael has originated, structured, and executed more than 100 deals totaling more than $4 billion in transaction value.

Michael received a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a J.D. from the New York University School of Law. He is currently on the Advisory Board of The George Washington University School of Business and also serves as Secretary on the Board of the Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA).

Rodney Lake is a teaching instructor of finance, the co-chair of the Department of Finance, the director of the GW Investment Institute, and a GW faculty member in residence at the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB). Professor Lake teaches graduate and undergraduate investment courses, where students manage real capital. To date, the Assets Under Management (AUM) across the GW Investment Institute’s student funds are approximately $5.2 million.

Professor Lake was formerly a senior financial analyst in the Executive Vice President and Treasurer’s Office at GW, where he served as an internal consultant for projects ranging from financial aid optimization modeling to developing spin-out strategies and valuations for internal businesses. Prior to joining GW, he was a financial analyst in portfolio management at a mortgage banking subsidiary of California Federal Bank (now part of Citi).

Professor Lake graduated cum laude from West Virginia Wesleyan College with a B.S. in Business. He has also received his MBA from the George Washington University.
