The Buff & Blue Bytes series highlights the unique talents of GW alumni and students through informational and interactive virtual sessions. 

In this session Jacob Biesiada, ESIA BA’17, SEAS MS’19, shares tips on how to protect yourself online in the wake of a more interconnected world. Topics include password management, avoiding phishing scams, and how to have a cybersecurity mindset without a degree so that you can secure yourself in the future.

Jacob, a cybersecurity professional who majored in International Affairs, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity at GW, is the creator and host of the National Science Foundation supported cybersecurity podcast Dcrypted. Dcrypted seeks to educate the general public about cyber issues that face us today using a style that’s simple and requires little to no technical background.
