In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month,The GW Latino Alumni Network has invited top leaders listed below from Friends of the American Latino Museum (FRIENDS) to share the latest and greatest developments on what will be THE Smithsonian National Museum of the American Latino (a museum for nuestra gente /our people!)

On June 27, 2020, the United States House of Representatives approved the bill to create The National Museum of the American Latino, which we consider to be the latest advancement of Latino culture and a victory for FRIENDS. The National Museum of the American Latino will not only showcase 500+ years of contributions made by American Latinos who are and have been an integral part of the fabric of this nation, but it will be a representation of the American Latino in the Smithsonian, and on the National Mall.
