Location

Online

Event Description

Hidden among the world's highest winegrowing valleys, Bolivia has been producing some of the world's most delicious wines for more than 400 years. Join fellow GW alumni for a unique virtual wine tasting, hosted by Chufly Imports. The tasting features three syrahs: one rosé and two red expressions of the syrah grape that underscores the incredible diversity of Bolivia's winemakers.

Chufly WinesTealye Long, CCAS BA '15, and Ramon Escobar launched Chufly Imports to drive sustainable development through Bolivia's centuries-old winemaking tradition. In Bolivia, every 25 acres of grapevines planted for winemaking lifts about 10 families out of poverty.

The virtual tasting will be hosted by Alison Van de Berghe, ESIA BA ‘15, and Bolivian winemaker Francisco Roig, ESIA BA '96, will walk us through the wines.

While the deadline to ship the wine has passed, those local to DC can still purchase the 3 Bottle Bolivian Sampler directly through Potomac Wines at 202-333-2847. The wine package includes 1750 Syrah, 1750 Syrah Rosé, and Concepción Syrah.
