Join us this Native American Heritage Month for a talk focusing on historical and contemporary Indigenous presence in Washington, D.C. In this virtual talk, Elizabeth Rule, director of the AT&T Center for Indigenous Politics and Policy and a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, will discuss contemporary Native American politics and pressing issues. Dr. Rule will also introduce her new mobile application, the Guide to Indigenous D.C.
About Elizabeth Rule
Elizabeth Rule is the director of the AT&T Center for Indigenous Politics and Policy, a faculty in residence at GW, and academic director for GW’s Semester in Washington Politics Program. Her research has been published in American Quarterly and the American Indian Culture and Research Journal, and featured in The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and NPR. Before coming to D.C., she was a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Rule received her doctorate and master’s in American Studies from Brown University, and her bachelor’s from Yale University. She is an enrolled citizen of the “unconquered and unconquerable” Chickasaw Nation.How to Participate
