Join alumni for this live digital fireside conversation where alumna and strategist/coach Betsy McCluskey, CCAS MA '95, will be interviewing fellow alumna and mental health professional Melissa Doman, M.A., CCAS BA '07, and discussing how to manage your mental health during times of crisis with the GW alumni community.

They'll be covering specific questions that address understanding the mental health impact of the current complex global climate, how to navigate the in-flux new normal, practical self-management strategies, and some key takeaways to use personally and professionally. At the end of the session, there will be dedicated time for an open Q&A with Melissa where you can ask your questions live to her via chat.

rsz_1rsz_mdheadshot.jpgMelissa Doman, M.A., CCAS BA '07, is an Organizational Psychologist, former Mental Health Therapist, and Mental Health at Work Specialist. Following years of clinical work as a licensed mental health therapist in universities, EAPs, and private practice, Melissa left the clinical sector and turned her focus to consulting, advising, and speaking in the worlds of organizational psychology and mental health awareness for international, national, and local organizations and Fortune 500 companies. She is currently writing a book that will be published by Trigger Publishing, about changing perceptions and how to have practical conversations about mental health at work. Melissa has consulted and spoken in many sectors and has been featured as a speaker and subject matter expert at national conferences, summits, digital publications, local television shows, international mentoring programs, and as a panelist at Google U.K. discussing practical and inclusive conversations around mental health. She is also a prominent thought leader on mental health at work in the UK and dedicated 3 years of her career to this space while living in London. With extensive experience in human resources, international consulting, and executive and health coaching, she supports clients in human resources strategy, workforce planning, coaching, and health and wellness initiatives. Betsy’s focus is on enabling corporations to integrate wellbeing into their culture, values, and skills profiles while enabling employees to develop to their fullest potential.  Betsy has earned degrees from GW, Georgetown University, Michigan State University, as well as certifications from Duke University and Pennsylvania State University.  As a nationally board-certified health and wellness coach, Betsy also facilitates health and wellness workshops; teaches aqua aerobics; and volunteers with the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention.
