Running away from escalating physical and sexual abuse at home, Valeria was easy prey for human traffickers, who made her a slave. They smuggled her over the U.S. border, forcing her to provide sexual services for up to 20 men a day.

Valeria knew she would die if she didn’t escape. So one night she ran off – finding a safe haven through Lutheran Services Florida (LSF).

Thanks to the support of friends like you, LSF provided Valeria with critical medical care, counseling, financial assistance, and more.
