Tribute Giving at Variety BC

Donations made in memory of loved ones help Variety BC ensure kids from diverse backgrounds and facing adversity can reach their fullest potential to thrive. Often referred to as the “last resort” charity, Variety BC receives roughly 10 applications a day from families seeking support for their children. And thanks to generous supporters like you, we’re able to respond to this urgent need.

When donating in memory of a loved one you will receive an official tax receipt confirming the details of your donation, and Variety BC will mail a card to the honouree’s next of kin acknowledging your thoughtful gift (the amount will not be included).

These pages can include the obituary, a story, and photos of your loved one.

 

We know how important it is to give back at home, which is why we direct donations to a child in your region who will directly benefit from your tribute.

If you would like to give by cheque, please make your donation payable to Variety – the Children’s Charity and note that it is in memory of your loved one in the memo. Cheques can be mailed to the following address:

How Your Gift Changes Lives

For over 55 years, Variety – the Children’s Charity has stepped in to fill the gaps where health care ends by providing direct support to BC’s kids and their families.

 

What does your gift look like?

• Mobility equipment that allows children to get out and be active in their communities
• Medical equipment like hearing aids so a child can hear their mother’s voice for the first time
• Specialized therapies for kids to learn how to communicate effectively, get stronger after cancer treatment, or learn to master everyday skills that will help them find confidence and independence
• Access to counselling services for kids who may be struggling with mental wellness in their day-to-day lives
• Educational support such as bursaries for tutoring and tuition for specialized schools so children can succeed and thrive in the classroom

And now Variety BC has expanded its funding to include:

• Private autism assessments
• Private psychoeducational assessments
• Equine therapy
• Music therapy
