CHALLENGE YOUR SUPPORTERS
Goal-oriented messages work, especially after you've collected approximately 1/3 of your fundraising goal. They’re also a great way to engage your social network in a collective effort. Here are some examples:
This week, I’m trying to raise $250 towards my Pet Walk fundraising goal. If five people contributed $50 each (or if 25 of you contribute $10 each!) we could meet this challenge and help animals at the Wisconsin Humane Society. Will you be one of my 5? Or 25? [INSERT PERSONAL URL]
With help from my generous friends, I've collected [INSERT AMOUNT RAISED] so far for the Wisconsin Humane Society, but I still need to raise [INSERT AMOUNT REMAINING] to reach my goal. I need 10 people to donate $[INSERT AMOUNT] today to provide animals in need with food, care, and shelter. Will you help me? [INSERT PERSONAL URL]
Bonus: these posts are easy to shorten and great to share on Twitter.

RECRUIT YOUR TEAM ON SOCIAL MEDIA
When you invite others to join Pet Walk, you’re helping us grow the movement and inspiring entire communities to step up and help animals. Post an announcement on your social media platforms letting folks know that you’re walking in Pet Walk and ask them to join you. If you have certain people in mind, make it a personal invitation by tagging them in your post (it’s bold, but effective!).

Subject Line: I’m helping animals in need - will you?
I’ve joined the Wisconsin Humane Society’s 2023 Door County Pet Walk and on September 9 will be walking for the animals who need our help.
This isn’t just about walking the dog. It’s a show of compassion for the voiceless and a promise to help WHS provide those in need with vital services: food, medical care, training, and a brighter future.
One day can make a difference! By joining Pet Walk, I’m raising funds and awareness for WHS, an organization that provides shelter, care, and support to animals and their families in our community. The money we raise is put to work immediately, helping to provide urgent medical treatments and services for some of the 40,000 animals the Wisconsin Humane Society cares for every year.
I’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal, and I can’t reach it without you. Please consider supporting my efforts by making a donation to my Pet Walk fundraiser here: [INSERT PERSONAL URL]
EMAIL SAMPLE 2:
I’m joining an amazing group of people for the 2023 Door County Pet Walk, raising funds and awareness for the Wisconsin Humane Society. In case you haven't heard it from me enough times, WHS is an amazing place - it provides safe shelter for animals in need and programming, including youth outreach and a pet food pantry for those who need it, so together we can continue to build a community that values animals, and treats them with respect and kindness.
The animals who come through their doors are full of love in so many ways - they're cuddly, they're looking to play, they're goofy - but they are also some of the most resilient animals you will ever meet.
As hard as it can be to ask you - my friends and family - for money year after year, seeing the amazing success stories of these animals makes its easy. Life has thrown a lot of curveballs at them, yet they still can’t wait to bond with their perfect family. While at the shelter, they heal, play, and even learn a few new tricks, and WHS is there to encourage them every step of the way.
Please consider making a donation again this year. I am so grateful for your continued support, and couldn’t do it without you!
