Hello friends! I am "stepping up" for my 5th year to Elevate the Los Angeles Community.
On September 29th, I’m climbing 1,664 steps at the US Bank Tower in Downtown Los Angeles to support programs at the downtown Los Angeles YMCA. This 75-flight staircase is the tallest staircase west of the Mississippi River. This will be the 4th year I have climbed the steps of this building (2010, 2019, and 2022). In 2021 the event took place outdoors at the historic Los Angeles Coliseum due to concerns about the pandemic. I climbed up 4,400 steps and down 4,400 steps. It was lots of fun! I am looking forward to receiving my 5th medal!
The YMCA is an integral part of the Los Angeles community. The Ketchum-Downtown Y serves thousands of community members with programs like Preschool & Day Care, the Growing Young Minds afterschool program, teen programs, Youth & Government, Summer Resident Camp, youth sports, college prep, Community Health Fairs, and more. During the pandemic the Los Angeles YMCA branches mobilized quickly, using their closed facilities to provide services for those in need, including helping the Los Angeles Unified School District provide meals to school children, providing meals and showers for the homeless population, and helping many to find permanent housing.
I am looking forward to undertaking this challenge to support the YMCA's involvement in elevating the community.
Please help support this worthy cause by donating today! Thanks!
Onward and Upward!
Diane
PS: With 1,664 steps, a donation of 3 cents per step climbed is $50. 5 cents per step is $83. 10 cents per step is $166. And so forth.
