TEAM BECK
John was a decorated Master Sargent retiring after 20 years of service in the Air Force. He was very proud of his service.
March 4th 2022, we received the devastating news that John was officially diagnosed with Bulbar Onset ALS.
John’s symptoms started in Fall of 2020.
John was able to join his TEAM Beck for our first ALS walk in June of 2022.
John walked around the lot to see the displays but was tired by the start of the walk. John was pushed by a cousin enjoying his TEAM walking for and next to him.
John’s ALS progressed in the next 6 months. He lost the ability to do all the things we take for granted.
John’s wife Kim did an amazing job providing his care and making sure he was getting the best medical and physical treatments possible.
John lost his battle on December 30th 2022.
This will be our Second Memorial Walk.
We will be walking to honor his memory and to raise money for others living with this horrible disease.
Thank you for helping us reach our fundraising goal! Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. Our team is committed to raising money to support people in our community with ALS and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. Please consider joining our team in the Walk to Defeat ALS® or choose a team member from the list and donate to our cause.

ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
