Thank you for helping us reach our fundraising goal!
Our Fundraising & Development class at the University of Texas at Arlington is committed to not only learning within the classroom but also making a tangible difference in the world around us. This year, we've chosen to participate in the ALS Walk to support those affected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a debilitating and currently incurable disease.
Our class has created a semester-long project to raise awareness about ALS, contribute to crucial fundraising efforts for research and support services, and stand in solidarity with those who are battling this disease, along with their families. This initiative reflects our shared values of compassion, community, and active citizenship.
We believe that through our collective efforts, we can help bring attention to the need for more research and better treatments, and ultimately, contribute to the hope of finding a cure. This walk is more than just an event—it's an opportunity for us to show our commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
