Since its inception in 1994, Rays of Hope has been helping individuals in the fight against breast cancer by walking alongside them on their cancer journey. Through the Baystate Health Breast Network, Rays of Hope cares for the whole person from diagnosis and beyond by supporting research at the Rays of Hope Center for Breast Cancer Research, providing funding for state-of-the-art equipment, breast health programs and outreach and education throughout Baystate Health, support to patients and survivors, as well as providing grants for complementary therapies and cancer programs to our community partners throughout western Massachusetts.

 

Rays of Hope has raised over $17.2 million to date. All funds raised remain local in western Massachusetts.

2024 Walk & Run Registration Paper!


It’s time to think PINK! The 31st annual Rays of Hope Walk & Run Towards the Cure of Breast Cancer presented by Hyundai Hope on Wheels is coming up on Sunday, October 27th and there is still time to register! Keep reading for all the information you need to know about Walk Day!

While there is no minimum donation to participate, we ask that each participant raises at least $50 to be eligible to receive an exclusive 2024 Rays of Hope Participant T-Shirt. Donations, made by check and card, will be accepted at Runner and Walker Registration the morning of the event. After you have finished checking in on the morning of the Walk & Run, be sure to stop by the T-Shirt Tent sponsored by Pfizer to pick up your tee!

Have you raised over $1,000 in online donations? Then you might be part of our excluive group of BIG WIGS! As a thank you for reaching the minimum online credit card donation amount of $1,000 BIG WIGS receive amazing benefits like onsite parking, goodie bags, an exclusive registration area presented by USA Recycle with lounge and so much more depending on the amount you raise. All qualifying Big Wigs and Super Big Wigs will receive an email in the week leading up to the Walk notifying you of your Big Wig Status!

The morning of October 27th will be filled with celebrations that you won’t want to miss, including our annual Survivors’ Photo and performance by Westfield Native Madison Curbelo! The Run Toward the Cure will start the day at 8:30 a.m., followed by walker registration opening at 9 a.m. and the Walk Toward the Cure stepping off at 10:30 a.m. Please see below for a full schedule of events:

  • Runner Registration presented by City Tire opens at 8:00am, runner parking is located at the Springfield Elks Lodge
  • Run Towards the Cure starts at 8:30am
  • Walk Registration presented by Lancer Transportation opens at 9:00 AM, all parking lots will be open
  • 9:30am ON STAGE OPENING REMARKS
  • 9:45am SURVIVORS’ PHOTO
  • 9:45am ON STAGE Community Recognition Segment
  • 9:50am MADISON CURBELO PERFORMANCE presented by City Tire
  • 10:20am ON STAGE WALK KICK OFF
  • The Walk Towards the Cure presented by Hyundai Hope On Wheels steps off at 10:30am

After checking in, be sure to stop by the Rays of Hope Store presented by ACME Metals & Recylcing to purchase the latest pink swag. Please note that all Baystate Health entities are now CASHLESS including the Rays of Hope Merchandise Store. We will only be accepting credit cards and Venmo transactions at the event.

SUVIVORS: Be sure to head over to the Pink Hope Lounge presented by Gary Rome Hyundai to get your exclusive 2024 Survivors’ T-Shirt, pin and so much more! Gather at the tent with fellow survivors so you don’t miss the annual Survivors’ Photo that will be taken at 9:45am!

PLEASE NOTE: There is no parking available at Temple Beth El. Parking for Walk & Run participants is located at 6 remote lots and shuttle buses will run continuously throughout the morning to bring you to and from the starting line.
