Fundraising Tips

We encourage our race participants to raise funds on behalf of the YWCA Evanston North Shore to support our programs in the areas of Racial Justice and Violence Prevention Programming.

How? When you register, you can create your own personal donation page by logging into "My HQ." From that page you can email friends, family and co-workers to ask them to support your participation in the Race with a donation. You can set your own goal and track your progress through the website. We have even made it easier for you by providing email templates that you can modify and use to make your requests.

Raising $200 for our 20th is easier than you think:

  1. Sponsor Yourself! It all begins with your own commitment.
  2. Ask 4 family members to donate $50 each.
  3. Ask 10 friends to donate $20 each.
  4. Ask 20 co-workers to donate $5 each.
  5. Ask for a company contribution of $100.
  6. Ask 5 neighbors for $40 each.
  7. Ask your Twitter followers to donate $1 each.

Do some of these things and you've raised $200 for a cause you believe in and are sweating for. Do all of these things and you will have raised over $1000. It's easier than the run!

Most donors give because a friend asked them, so go ahead and ASK! Who wouldn't want to support your race against hate?

While fundraising is completely optional, we will reward all race participants who raise at least $200 (over and above the registration fee) win a Race Against Hate thermal cup. If a participant goes on to raise another $150 (a $350 total), they will also earn a cozy Race Against Hate gym bag! And for every $20 you raise, you will be entered to win an IPad.

We hope you will consider fund raising on our behalf with the easy to use Friends Asking Friends web page! If you have questions about how the web page works consult the Registration FAQ's link on this website or contact Event Director Trimmy Stamell.

Thanks in advance!
