Veterans Build

Empowering military veterans through home ownership, home repairs and camaraderie building events.

At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that every veteran family deserves a decent place to call home. Through our Veterans Build Program, Habitat helps empower veterans through home ownership, home repairs and camaraderie building events.

Habitat for Humanity affiliates across Chicagoland are actively addressing the lack of affordable housing by partnering with military service members, their families, and veterans to help build and repair affordable housing. Habitat’s hand-up not a hand-out approach asks partner families to invest sweat-equity hours to build their home and volunteer with us.

Home Ownership

If you or someone in your household has served in the military and you meet our Habitat’s qualifications, you may be eligible to purchase a new, energy-efficient home with an affordable mortgage.

Learn more about Home Ownership here.

Home Repairs

Our Habitat affiliates are currently offering home repairs for Veterans who live in DuPage County, McHenry County, northern Kane County, and Will County. Habitat’s Home Repair program is designed to improve the quality of life and living conditions of low-to moderate-income homeowners by focusing on both exterior and interior home repairs.

If you are in need of home repairs please reach out to your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate:
