ReStores typically accept cabinets; most furniture; flooring (wood, tile, and vinyl); most appliances; windows; doors with jambs; new carpet; countertops (granite, solid surface, and laminate); plumbing & electrical fixtures and parts; tools; hardware; lumber (6’+ in length); and other construction materials. The list of what a particular ReStore can and cannot accept changes depending on their inventory, so check before donating. Please understand that if they feel they cannot sell an item, they may decline the donation.
If you have overstock, excess inventory, or product you are discontinuing, please consider helping Habitat for Humanity across the entire Chicago metro area by donating through Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity. We are a support organization for eight local affiliates in Chicago and the surrounding counties. We will reach out to our eight affiliates; find out if they can use the product for construction or resale; and determine the most appropriate way to share your donation among affiliates. We may be able to help arrange pickup, delivery, and/or distribution to the affiliates. Contact us at 312-265-6625.
