Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County
Visit the McHenry County ReStores in McHenry or Woodstock where you will find new and gently used merchandise, resold to the public at 50- 80% of the retail value. Many of these items were made possible through our generous corporate donors which include floor models, overstock, returns, and even new items. Proceeds support the Habitat mission of providing affordable housing to low-income individuals and families in McHenry County.

ReStores accept donations of new and used items from individuals, retailers and contractors, then resell them to the community at affordable prices. All proceeds help fund the affiliate’s work in McHenry County.

At Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County, we know the power of community firsthand. Without the help of our donors and volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to help families in McHenry County become homeowners or attain vital repairs to their homes. Our ReStores are one way we’re able to give back and say thank you to our friends and neighbors in the community, while also helping more people move into safe, affordable housing. And, not to mention, our ReStores help our community to be more environmentally friendly by keeping thousands of tons of waste out of landfills each year.

Shop

ReStores are open to the public for shopping from Tuesday - Saturday, 9 am-5 pm. You can purchase a variety of quality new and reclaimed building materials, pre-owned appliances and furniture, and more – all at a fraction of retail prices. All proceeds go back into building safe and affordable homes in McHenry County.  What a great way to give back!

Volunteer

Both our McHenry and Woodstock ReStores are staffed almost entirely by volunteers. Without the help of our awesome volunteers, we would not be able to do what we do! In the ReStores, our volunteers help with duties such as running the cash registers, sorting stock, assisting customers, tidying up the store, unloading the donation truck, and educating the community about Habitat McHenry’s mission. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please click here to sign up for one of our many slots.

If you would like to fill out our safety waiver before you volunteer, please click the corresponding form below. Waiver forms for minors require the signature of a legal guardian. The completed Minor Waiver must be brought with on your first day of volunteering.

If you are interested in completing Community Service hours at our ReStores you MUST be approved by the Volunteer Coordinator prior to volunteering.  You will need the county where the service hours are being completed for and the case or ticket number before calling or emailing the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@habitatmchenry.org or 815-759-9002 ext 106. If you volunteer at our ReStores prior to being approved, those hours may not count towards your Community Service hours.
