General Information 

Where does the money go?

All funds raised by the Richstone Walk will go directly to the Richstone Family Center in Hawthorne, CA to support their efforts to prevent and treat child abuse. Their core programs are provided to vulnerable children and families so they may lead healthy and productive lives. Is there a minimum fundraising requirement?
No, there are no fundraising requirements but we challenge our participants to set a personal goal for themselves. 

Where do we meet on Saturday April 25th?
Festivities (7am) and Walk (8:00am) are at the base of Manhattan Beach Blvd in front of the Manhattan Beach Pier.

How long is the walk?
The Walk route is from the Manhattan Beach Pier to the Hermosa Beach Pier and back for an easy, flat 3.4 miles.

Can my dog join me?
Yes! Family friendly dogs are welcome to join us at the Richstone Walk. 

Donations

Can I make a donation by check?
Yes, please make checks payable to “Richstone Walk”. Be sure to include the walker/team you are supporting in the memo line so they receive credit on their fundraising page.

Are donations tax deductible?
The Richstone Family Center is a registered 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization. Tax I.D. #23-7373745. All monetary donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Will I receive a receipt for my donation?
Yes, all donations made online through the Richstone Walk website will immediately be emailed a receipt. Any checks mailed in will receive a receipt via regular mail.

Registration

How do I register for the 2020 Richstone Walk?

Fill out this form to register. You will be guided through the registration process. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email from rfcinfo@richstonefamily.org. This email will include a link to your personal page, which you can customize to begin fundraising.

Is there a registration fee?
Yes, registration is $30 and includes a commemorative Richstone Walk baseball hat and drawstring bag. Hats available while supplies last. 

Do I need to register my child?
Yes. All individuals must be registered and have a completed waiver on file. Children ages 3 and under may participate for free.

How do I form a team?
We love teams!  On the homepage of the Walk website, click “Form a Team”. Go through the step-by-step instructions to get yourself started as a team captain--don’t forget a fun team name! Once you have registered the team, send out your team info to all your potential team members so they can join you in walking for Richstone.  

 

Fundraising

What should I do to start raising funds for the Richstone Walk?
Raising funds for the Walk is simple and easy, here are some ideas to get you started.

  • Customize your personal page. Add photos and a brief message as to why you are walking for Richstone so donors know why they should support you.
  • Ask! The only way to receive donations, it to ask! Try sending a few emails to friends or family members and share why you are walking.
