My name is Zachary Ferguson. I am 22 years old and am currently working on a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and a Minor in Psychology at Aurora University. I live in Batavia, Illinois with my parents. I have had to overcome many hardships in my life due to ADHD, which has made me the person I am today. I have chosen Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity to do my internship because I am very fond of the vision they have to make this community a better place. I hope to learn how this business functions and what they do behind the scenes to make it all happen. I look forward to meeting all the future homeowners and those volunteers who work with Habitat. I hope we can accomplish much as we expand our outreach to all of those in need and that we can be successful in our ever-expanding endeavors.

My name is Mateo, and I am a senior at Aurora University. I will be a marketing intern for Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity for the spring 2021 semester. I am pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and I plan to graduate by December 2021. In my free time, I enjoy photography, playing saxophone, and exploring interesting places. After I begin my marketing career and the pandemic ends, I hope to be able to travel to places I have never been to. Before working at Habitat for Humanity I spent a little time working for Boys & Girls club and I loved the opportunity to connect with and guide the younger kids I met while I was there. This opportunity was a major factor in my decision to become an intern for Habitat for Humanity because I wanted to be able to help and connect with other people and this organization can help me do that. I am eagerly looking forward to help this organization in any way I can!

In fact, we moved to Skokie a few days before 9/11 and some of my earliest memories are of that fateful day. I went to school in Skokie for my entire K-12 education, graduating from Niles North High School in 2017. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends from Aurora University, working out, watching classic TV, studying Torah, and listening to classic rock.
